Patrick Dargan and Johanna Flynn Family Records
This collection brings together the confirmed baptismal records associated with Patrick Dargan / Dorgan and Johanna / Anne / Nancy Flynn.
It documents Daniel, Mary, Elizabeth, Timothy, and David between 1838 and 1846. The records also preserve sponsor names, surname variations, and family-network evidence from the Ballymacoda and Ladysbridge parish registers.
Healy Family Records
This collection follows the Healy branch descended from Mary Dorgan.
It includes the 1866 marriage of Jeremiah Healy and Mary Dorgan, the 1870 baptism of their son John Healy, John’s 1915 marriage to Margaret Graham, and the family’s 1926 census household in Carrigtwohill.
Cloyne Branch Records
This collection follows the family of Michael Dorgan and Johanna Garde.
It includes their 1869 marriage, their son Patrick Dorgan, and the later Rock Street and Cloyne household evidence. This branch should remain distinct from the Rhode Island branch formed by Patrick J. Dorgan and Mary Catherine Hartnett.

Record Significance
David was a son of Patrick Dorgan and Nancy Flynn and belonged to the Carrigkilter Dorgan family.
The marriage connected the Dorgan family of Carrigkilter with the neighboring Ahern / Ahearne family of Ballybraher. David and Elizabeth later appear together in the 1901 and 1911 Irish census records at Carrigkilter.
1872 Baptism and Civil Birth — Ellen Theresa Hartnett
Ellen Theresa Hartnett was baptized in the Roman Catholic parish of Cloyne on 21 April 1872. She was a daughter of John Hartnett and Catherine Duhig and a younger sister of Mary Catherine Hartnett, who later married Patrick J. Dorgan.

Civil Birth-Date Discrepancy
A civil birth registration associated with Ellen gives a birth date of 2 June 1872. That date is later than her recorded Catholic baptism date and therefore presents an unresolved conflict if both records refer to the same person.
The discrepancy should be preserved rather than silently corrected. The matching parental names and Ellen’s later American records provide important evidence for her identity, but the conflicting dates require continued examination.
Later Life
Ellen later emigrated to the United States. She arrived in 1901 aboard the RMS Lucania, with her last residence recorded as Cloyne.
She married John Henry O’Brien in Providence, Rhode Island, on 17 November 1910. Their marriage record again identified her parents as John Hartnett and Catherine Duhig.
Ellen Theresa Hartnett O’Brien died in Providence in 1946.
