Photos & Pictures Gallery
Photographs preserve faces, homes, farms, cemeteries, landscapes, and other visual evidence that written records alone cannot provide. This gallery brings together important images connected with the Dorgan / Dargan family story in East Cork and Rhode Island.
Photo Display and Preservation Note
Where a restored image is used for easier viewing, the untouched original remains preserved in the Gallery / Original Images.
Restoration is limited to improvements such as contrast, lighting, sharpness, and legibility. Missing faces, text, objects, or other historical details are not invented.
Help Identify Photos and Places
Some photographs in the archive still contain unidentified people, uncertain dates, or locations that need confirmation.
If you recognize a person, home, farm, church, cemetery, landscape, or event shown in a photograph, please contact the archive. Documentary evidence, family knowledge, and even approximate dates or locations may help resolve an identification.
Photos, Maps, and Place Evidence
Photographs become especially useful when compared with maps, land records, parish evidence, and the dedicated East Cork place pages.
