Family Graves and Memorials
This gallery preserves photographs of Dorgan / Dargan family graves, headstones, and memorials in East County Cork, elsewhere in Ireland, and the United States. These memorials provide valuable evidence of family relationships, dates, burial places, and the lives of our ancestors. Where an identification or family connection remains uncertain, it is clearly noted.
Photo Display and Preservation Note
Where a restored image is used for easier viewing, the untouched original remains preserved in the Gallery / Original Images.
Restoration is limited to improvements such as contrast, lighting, sharpness, and legibility. Missing faces, text, objects, or other historical details are not invented.

Family Graves and Memorials

Johanna Flynn Dorgan — Ballymacoda Hill Cemetery
This weathered gravestone was identified by Liam Dorgan during an April 2005 visit as the burial place of Johanna (Anne/Nancy) Flynn Dorgan of Carrigkilter. The inscription is no longer legible, so the identification rests on family testimony.
Johanna Dorgan and Her Sons — Cloyne
Memorial to Johanna Dorgan of Cloyne and her sons William (Bill) Dorgan of Cork, who died 3 April 1924, and Patrick (Pats) Dorgan of Cloyne, who died 9 March 1931. Both dates are recorded on the memorial.
Patrick J. Dorgan and Mary Catherine Hartnett — Rhode Island
Gravestone of Patrick J. Dorgan (died 9 December 1937) and his wife Mary Catherine Hartnett Dorgan (died 23 November 1950), buried at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, Rhode Island. The engraved birth dates should be distinguished from other historical records, including Mary Catherine's 1866 baptism.
